We wish we had a glittering customer service centre with people that wear those headphones operating 24 hours a day. Unfortunately we are far too small for that. However that doesn't mean we can't offer great customer service!
The best way to communicate with us is via email. As a small team working in a very loud studio it usually isn't safe to down tools (if we even hear the phone!) to answer calls. However we check emails throughout the day and can quickly send your enquiry through to the correct designer or maker. We will usually answer within a couple of hours during studio hours. Note about peak trading times. During busy periods it is not unusual for delays to creep in. We will always come back to you and have a system to prioritise the most urgent enquiries. Please avoid sending more enquiries through different platforms or messaging routes as this will only make the delays longer.

Q) Do you stock everything in the bricks and mortar shop?
A) No, our online offering is much bigger with lots of bespoke options and personalised details available. The shop is a more streamlined version with more 'off the peg' products.
Q) What is Modo's style?
A) We are a colourful, creative, independent lifestyle and gift brand with modern folk, playful and maximalist influences.
Q) What products are Modo best known for?
A) Probably our Large Wooden Word Signs and our Mini Mindful Moments® candle sets and our wooden keepsake items. Our large painted signs were an instant hit when we developed them back in 2017. The candles were a labour of love and we registered them in an effort to protect the concept. Our wooden keepsakes are ever changing but quality is always a priority.
Q) How eco friendly is Modo?
A) We are eco-conscious and community minded and constantly striving for better. We will reject fancy packaging and unnecessary extras for our products. This is both an environment choice but also a customer choice (we want the product to have all the value...not the packaging) Our cards and smaller items are all packaged in potato starch cello bags, we reuse as much packaging as possible avoid plastic at all costs.
Lots of our wooden products are made from recylcled flooring, which makes them part of a circular economy. Our paints are the real deal, we use the original makers and don't get copies. Many of our fabric items are made by another small business in the next village.
Q) Do you support small makers and artists?
A) Yes! We love to support local people and always have at least 1 maker in the shop that have thier own little corner to have a go at selling from. We also welcome submissions from local makers who think their products might be a good fit for us.
Q) Is Modo an independent business?
A) Yes we are fully independant. Husband and wife founders with children who have not only grown up in the business but have all worked for it at some stage or another too! We still work with suppliers that we started with 18 years ago and who have become really good friends. Our team are fellow Yorkshire folk and for every £1 you spend with us, almost all of it stays in Yorkshire and is put back into the local economy.
Q) Where are Modo products made?
A) we have a dedicated space in a local mill (opposite side of the valley to the shop) where we design, make, cut, paint, sand, sew, press, stick, clamp, package and post everything. Its a noisy, creative and fun space to work. Follow us on socials for more behind the scenes.
Q) Do you have any famous customers?
A) Absolutely! We have some really good ones (we even have a royal seal of approval) but we are far too professional to divulge :)
